In Briefing Paper 52: Domestic Election Observation: Key Concepts and International Standards, DRI discusses the international law obligations that underpin domestic election observation and the roles of observers during an election cycle. The Briefing Paper highlights key principles of domestic election observation, including non-partisanship, impartiality, and an in-depth understanding of the legal framework that governs elections. Produced in English and Burmese, the Briefing Paper provided was used by civil society organization and domestic observers in Myanmar ahead of the 2015 elections.
