Proposals should be submitted by 30 September 2020.
Democracy Reporting International is looking for a graphic designer to support our projects worldwide, to prepare the transition to a new visual identity and to advise the organisation as necessary.
Background
DRI is an international non-governmental organisation created in 2006 and based in Berlin. Our work rests on two pillars: reporting and analysis, and capacity-building in the field. In addition to our headquarters in Berlin, we have country offices in Lebanon, Libya, Myanmar, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Tunisia and Ukraine.
We are currently in the process of updating our visual identity and are looking for a graphic designer to help us introduce the new design and branding, update our promotional and communications products and prepare web and print layouts.
Timeline and scope
The successful proposal will lead to a one-year framework contract until October 2021, renewable for up to four years.
Our plan is to have the new visual identity roll out in January 2021, after which the bulk of the work will be ad hoc requests.
Projected Tasks
The selected provider will be hired to serve as one of DRI’s main graphic designers, with work submitted to them as it becomes available. Among others, the selected provider will be expected to:
- Advise on the roll-out of the new design and branding;
- Adapt the new design and branding as necessary;
- Create templates for common publications, promotional materials and other content (e.g. briefing papers, reports, leaflets, etc.);
- Layout publications and content for web and print as necessary.
About DRI’s Visual Identity
We are an independent non-governmental organisation that works in Europe, Asia, as well as the Middle East and North Africa. As such, our visual identity should be clear and easy to distinguish.
Given our international and diversified audience, we are culturally sensitive and avoid repeating gender stereotypes. Our brand adapts well to different languages and alphabets.
Our main audiences are involved in, or with, government: whether at the municipal or national levels. As such, the image we want to project is that of a competent organisation that has authority and expertise.
Our visual identity reflects these values in a sober, clean and minimalistic way. We are not looking for an identity based on a passing fad, but rather one that will age well.
Submit a bid
Both companies and individuals are welcomed.
The deadline for submissions is 30 September 2020. Please send the following information to [email protected] along with these documents:
- A financial estimate, based on the tasks outlined above;
- Portfolio, including examples of similar previous work;
- The CVs of anyone who would be working on this project.
The selected bidder will be working under the supervision of DRI’s Communications Coordinator.
