SUPPORTING DEMOCRATIC REFORMS: ELECTIONS, CONSTITUTIONS AND POLITICAL RIGHTS
The Middle East and North Africa has been a priority region for DRI since 2006 when we started assessing electoral frameworks across the region. In 2011, we opened offices in Egypt, Tunisia and Libya, later in Jordan and Lebanon. We believe that inclusive political systems are the only chance for the region to find sustainable stability. DRI supports local civil society organisations in advocating for constitutional, electoral and decentralisation reforms. DRI also works with policymakers, such as constitution drafters, parliamentary groups and members of the judiciary to effect genuine, democratic change.
DRI currently has one country office in Beirut (Lebanon) and two country offices in Tunis (Tunisia and Libya Office).
